March 26, 2002 Mr. Michael Covert President Washington Hospital Center 110 Irving Street NW Washington, DC 20010 Dear
Mr. Covert: I am a member
of Margaret Dureke's exercise class held Monday and Wednesday at Rudolph
Elementary School, 2nd and Hamilton Streets, NW. Our Instructor,
Margaret Dureke, is a fantastic advocate for improving the quality of one's
life through exercise and fitness. My doctors are delighted with the improvements to my health and appearance since I
joined her class in 2000. In addition to the inches and the pounds
that I have lost, I have received invaluable nutritional and cardiovascular
information. Through my interaction with Ms. Dureke, my appreciation and
understanding of the value of exercise, diet and being physically fit have
increased immeasurably. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoy her exercise
class, my interaction with her, and the healthier lifestyle she has
introduced me to. Ms. Dureke is a wonderful spokesperson and advocate for
healthy living and “looking good like we know we should.” Our exercise class
has grown tremendously through word of mouth, which attests to the positive
impact Ms. Dureke is having on the health and well being of those of us who
participate in her class and the community at large. She has taught us that
diet and exercise are the first line of defense in fighting high cholesterol
and maintaining overall good health. Ms. Dureke is an inspiration: she is a motivator;
she is a caring person; she is energetic; she is patient; and she is kind. She
is instilling in her class the power of exercise -- if you believe it you can
achieve it and that “success is like magic when you believe.” Sincerely yours, Gloria ----------- |
